Delta One

Delta One is a 36m motoryacht and the result of a strong relationship between Claydon Reeves, Mulder Shipyard and the client, who had a very clear idea of what he wanted. At the time of her launch in June 2017, she was the largest superyacht to come from the shipyard and the first of the shipyard’s ThirtySix range. It was a joy to provide the exterior and interior design for this project, with interior completed in conjunction with Vickers Studio.

Following the success of Solis, Claydon Reeves was excited to get stuck into this automotive inspired design, which is reflected in a number of features throughout the yacht. However, some are more obvious to spot than others.

The project began from the ground up and features generous accommodation for up to 10 guests, and is the second yacht from the shipyard to be built to LY3 and is under 300GT.

The yacht offers a bespoke modern exterior with a sleek aluminium construction and a continuous window line which culminates in a contemporary plumb bow. The design features Van Oossanen's patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) to ensure comfortable sailing and fuel economy at all speeds. While her twin 847 kW engines achieve a maximum speed of 17 knots.

The combination of an extremely practical layout, a large beach club, tender garage and huge open sundeck makes Delta One a perfect cruising vessel that offers more than you would expect for her size. However, one of the many benefits of her size is that she can be operated safely with a relatively small crew and can access all of the major marinas around the world with ease.

This fast displacement motoryacht has a transatlantic range and is complemented by a handful of toys including a large William Dieseljet 625 tender and two Jet Skis.

The fluid exterior design goes against the fashion of ballooning beams, as the hull measures no more than eight metres at its widest point. The slender hull and long waterline ensure outstanding seakeeping capacities in rough seas, enhancing comfort for owner and guests alike.

To the benefit of crew and guests alike, access to the crew quarters is separated from the guests areas, with crew accommodation and mess located forward on the lower deck and accessed via the galley on the port side of the main deck.

Five spacious cabins on board accommodate up to ten guests. Her design allows for maximum volume and privacy in the full beam owners’ master suite, which includes an open office, wardrobe, walk around en suite and unique detailing — a nod to the owner's most admired sports car. The exceptional features of this suite are heightened by dedicated access to a private seating area in the bow — a tranquil nook from which to contemplate the horizon.

While the owner's area takes pride of place forward on the main deck, guests can enjoy a dedicated space on the lower deck where four beautifully finished en suite cabins provide the perfect space to relax and rest after a day of activities. To the benefit of crew and guests alike, access to the crew quarters is separated from the guests areas, with crew accommodation and mess located forward on the lower deck and accessed via the galley on the port side of the main deck.

An impressive saloon, dining room and bar area are also located on the main deck, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic views while flooding the interior with natural light. Similar to Solis, the dining experience on Delta One is enhanced by the addition of a folding side balcony, which brings seascape panoramas right to the table.

Further entertainment space can be found outside the saloon, where the large outdoor cockpit area provides plenty of shaded al fresco seating and dining possibilities. The flybridge/sundeck above the beach club includes generous seating, lots of sun pads, a whirlpool bathtub with room for eight and a comfy dining place — a perfect backdrop to relaxing, sunbathing and socialising.
